Question 1: When and where is the Fall 2019 Commencement Ceremony?

The College of the Florida Keys Fall 2019 Commencement Ceremony will be held Friday, December 13, 2019, in the Tennessee Williams Theatre at the Key West campus. Commencement begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. Check-in for a graduates begins at 5:15 p.m. Graduates must be in the college administration building lobby by 5:30 p.m. to be lined up for the processional with their cap and gown.

Question 2: Will I need a ticket to attend my graduation ceremony?

No. Graduates do not need tickets to participate in the commencement ceremony, but they must be dressed in commencement regalia and have applied for graduation through the Enrollment Services department before the October 1, 2019 deadline.

Question 3: Will my guests need tickets to the graduation ceremony?

Yes, every guest requires a ticket to ensure compliance with safety protocols (children aged two [2] and under do not need a ticket but must be seated in a lap). Graduates are responsible for distributing tickets to their guests prior to the ceremony. PLEASE NOTE: If you do not pick up your guest tickets during the announced disbursement dates, they will not be held.

Question 4: How many tickets will I receive for guests?

To safely accommodate you and your guests, each graduate will receive four (4) guest tickets for the Fall 2019 Commencement Ceremony. Tickets are non-replaceable and do not have monetary value. The College does not support or condone the selling of guest tickets. The College is not responsible for lost, stolen or destroyed guest tickets. Guests without tickets are invited to sit in the designated overflow areas (adjacent classrooms viewing the ceremony via a live stream).

Question 5: Are my tickets for reserved seats or general admission?

There is no reserved seating in the Tennessee Williams Theatre for the graduation ceremony. The tickets are for general admission. Seating for all graduation ceremonies is on a first-come, first-serve basis for those with tickets. Guests with tickets will be seated inside the Tennessee Williams Theatre beginning at 5:30 p.m., and the ceremony begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. Guests who arrive late, and those without tickets, will be directed to the overflow seating areas in adjacent classrooms viewing the ceremony via a live stream.

Please note that ticket distribution is based upon the actual number of graduates participating in the ceremony and the seating capacity of Tennessee Williams Theatre. These numbers may vary term to term.

If your guests require accessible seating at the commencement ceremony, please contact Micah Carter at 305-809-3268 or via email at micah.carter@fkcc.edu. Accessible seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis in the Tennessee Williams Theatre and is limited.

Question 6: Do I need to show ID (school or photo) to pick up my guest tickets?

Yes. You will need to provide identification and provide your signature to indicate that you have collected your ticket allocation.

Question 7: Where and when do I pick up my guest tickets?

The College will distribute commencement tickets at the Key West campus front desk during normal business hours between November 11, 2019, and December 11, 2019. Tickets not picked up during this time will not be held. If you are a graduate from the Middle or Upper Keys and do not have plans to come to the Key West campus prior to commencement to collect your tickets, please contact Micah Carter at 305-809-3268 or micah.carter@fkcc.edu by Friday, November 29, 2019, to arrange for alternative delivery.

Question 8: What happens if I lose my tickets or guests forget theirs?

Please note that replacement tickets will not be issued if your allotment is lost or destroyed. The College is not responsible for lost, stolen or destroyed guest tickets. Guests without tickets may sit in the designated overflow areas (adjacent classrooms viewing the ceremony via a live stream).

Question 9: What happens if I don’t pick up my tickets by the last day of disbursement (Wednesday, December 11, 2019)?

Unclaimed tickets, and any remaining tickets available after the guaranteed ticket pickup deadline, will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis on Thursday, December 12, 2019, during the Cap & Gown Disbursement Event at the Key West campus. A maximum of two (2) additional tickets per graduate will be provided to attendees who request them, while supplies last. These additional tickets cannot be reserved in advance. You must come to this event to claim tickets. If you are a graduate in the Middle or Upper Keys and are unavailable to come to the Cap & Gown Disbursement Event on December 12, 2019, in Key West, please contact Micah Carter by Friday, November 29, 2019, to arrange for alternative delivery.

Again, seating for guests without tickets will be available in the overflow areas (adjacent classrooms viewing the ceremony via a live stream).
