SCHOLARSHIPS

for
Florida Keys Community College Students

 

The FKCC Foundation was established to support Florida Keys Community College’s students, programs and services by providing scholarships to FKCC students through the support of private donors and public agencies. Criteria for awards differ for each scholarship and may be based on financial need, grade point average, essay submissions, leadership, and character.

OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE:
A wide variety of scholarship opportunities are currently being offered to students.  Check the website often new scholarships will be added periodically!

HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS
Scholarships available to current-year high school graduates beginning FKCC in Summer or Fall.
FKCC Foundation Board of Trustees Scholarship – Up to 60-credit-hour tuition awards; Monroe County graduates ONLY; must satisfy a minimum of 6 credit hours for each award term and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
FKCC Foundation Board of Directors Scholarship
 – Up to 60-credit-hour tuition awards for recent high school graduates; must satisfy a minimum of 15 credit hours for each award term and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.2.
Edward B. Knight Rotary Club of Key West Vocational Scholarship – $4,000 awards for students pursuing an A.S. degree, A.A.S. degree, or PSAV certificate; must be a Monroe County resident and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.

FIRST GENERATION IN COLLEGE
Scholarships available to students whose parents did not complete a baccalaureate degree; must be a Florida resident.
Bank of America Dream Makers Scholarship – $500 awards; must satisfy a minimum of 6 credit hours for the award term.
Florida First Generation Matching Grant $500-$1,000 awards; must satisfy a minimum of 6 credit hours for the award term.
Helios Education Foundation Scholarship$1,000 awards; must satisfy a minimum of 9 credit hours for the award term.
The Sue & Albert Seeker Scholarship – $500 awards; must satisfy a minimum of 6 credit hours for the award term.

STUDENT AMBASSADORS
Scholarships for students serving as FKCC Ambassadors; must complete 12 credits prior to applying and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
P. Miller Student Ambassador ScholarshipUp to $1,200 awards for Ambassadors
Larry W. Tyree Student Ambassador Scholarship Up to $1,200 awards for Ambassadors.

NURSING
Scholarships available to individuals accepted into FKCC’s outstanding nursing program.
The American Legion Nursing Scholarship $1,000 awards provided by The American Legion, Arthur Sawyer Post 28 in Key West.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida Nursing and Allied Health Scholarship Up to $1,000 awards; must satisfy a minimum of 6 credit hours for the award period.
Hemingway Look-Alike Society Nursing Scholarship $1,000 awards; must satisfy a minimum of 6 credit hours for the award period.
Lower Keys Women’s Club Nursing Scholarship $1,000 awards; must be a Monroe County resident and satisfy a minimum of 9 credit hours for the award term.
Caregiver Scholarship Up to $500 awards for students enrolled in the CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or EMT program.
Nursing Challenge Grant – Up to $1,000 awards; must satisfy a minimum of 6 credit hours for the award term.
Mariners Physician’s Scholarship Up to $1,000 awards; must satisfy a minimum of 6 credit hours for the award term.

MARINE SCIENCE
Targeted scholarships for students with declared majors in the Marine Science field.
Wyland Marine Science Scholarship $1,000 awards for students pursuing an A.S Degree in Marine Environmental Technology and/or the related certifications or programs; must satisfy a minimum of 12 credit hours for the award term.
Save-A-Turtle Scholarship $1,000 awards for students pursuing an A.S. Degree in Marine Environmental Technology or an A.A.S. Degree in Marine Engineering, Management & Seamanship; must satisfy a minimum of 12 credit hours for the award term.
Pigeon Key Marine Science Scholarship Up to $2,6000 awards for degree-seeking Marine Science students; must satisfy a minimum of 6 credit hours for the award term(s) and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.


HOSPITALITY
Scholarships for students enrolled in hospitality and tourism management courses at FKCC.
The Lodging Association Hospitality & Tourism Management ScholarshipUp to $350 awards; open to both degree and non-degree seeking students; employment in the hospitality industry NOT required.

LAW ENFORCEMENT
Targeted scholarships for students employed by local law enforcement agencies or who have been accepted into local training academies.
Russel F. Sullivan Memorial ScholarshipUp to 60-credit-hour tuition awards for full-time employees of Key West Police Department and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (all full-time employees eligible).

OTHER
Scholarships for students with demonstrated financial need, students enrolled in specific programs or clubs; etc..
Hemingway Literary ScholarshipUp to $1,000 awards to encourage students’ literary talents.
Koenig Business ScholarshipUp to $1,000 awards for students with declared majors in Business.
RAVE/American Association of University Women ScholarshipUp to $1,000 awards for students enrolled in the RAVE Program.
VFW Ed Moran Memorial ScholarshipUp to $1,000 awards for veterans, service members, or one of their dependents; must be a U.S. citizen.
Will P. Roberts Memorial ScholarshipUp to $1,000 awards for students enrolled in a career technical education/A.S. degree program.
Jerry Wilkinson ScholarshipUp to 60-credit-hour tuition awards for FL resident students pursuing an associate’s degree; preference given to full-time applicants.
FKCC Keys Chorale Scholarship – 
$109.22 awards to cover the cost of tuition and fees for students enrolled in the Mixed Community Chorus class; must be a FL resident.

Applicants MUST have a completed & current FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on file to be considered.

  • Complete the General Application Information (or Update if you are a returning user).
  • Apply for EACH scholarship separately! *Students are encouraged to apply for all scholarships for which they are eligible.
